Oops!

So I didn't realize it had been 4 MONTHS since I last posted something until I was looking at a friends blog and saw that under my link it said '4 months ago'. My bad. So I will be playing catch up, even some from summer. I know, I am lame-o. But my excuse is that I just haven't been on the computer as much I used to be. Seriously. I am on it MAYBE once every couple days, and that is usually to check deals for strollers/car seats because I have been on the look out for one since I found that the one we had has expired. YAY! Ever since Mayson and Avery have developed the skill of turning on playhouse disney, pbs kids, treehouse or movies by themselves, they have been monopolizing the keyboard.

I'll start with November & some of December....

If you are familiar with the cartoon SUPER WHY, then you might recognize this little number. Mayson had been in her room for awhile, so I called up to ask what she was doing. She called back "Come see". I found her at the top of the stairs like this. Red Riding Hood is Mayson's "person", Avery's is Princess Pea, Dad is Whyatt, and Mom and Roewyn get to share Pig. I thought Mayson's interpretation of Red's attire was pretty accurate :)
When we had the first substantial snowfall, the girls wanted to go out and play. Roewyn was pretty excited that she got to wear her snowpants instead of them just hanging in the closet.

She wore her said snowpants for all of about 10 minutes while she just stood there and ate a clump of snow. It is one of her favorite snacks next to cheese. Whenever we are leaving the house or coming home, she has to stop and get a handful of snow to eat. Luckily her mitts are attached to her coat or this kid would have some cold hands. She puts her coat on and says "Oh! I need to put on my mitts" which I am sure is just to make the snow eating more comfortable.

Mayson and Avery 'cleaning off the van'. They cleaned off our 2 neighbors hoods too.

Uncle Logan and Aunt Pam's wedding.......It was a very busy but very fun weekend! The girls had so much fun sleeping over at Great Gma and Gpa's house, getting to have a fancy dinner and DANCING!!! The night of the reception Jon ended up taking Roewyn home because all she wanted to do was be held by mom and cried at the drop of a hat. She was exhausted. But Mayson and Avery wanted to stay and party, and we didn't get home til 1am! I was glad that they just got out there and danced, I was thinking they wouldn't because they are less inclined to bust a move when people are watching. But the audience didn't stop them! They danced to every song and they had some interesting moves sometimes. They LOVED it.
At the family dinner. Roewyn kept wanting to get up and talk in the microphone. Luckily I had some left over smuggled-in movie treats in my purse to keep her at bay.

Mayson said to me "Mom, I'm glad that kids were allowed to come to the fancy dinner. This is fun". One of the appetizers was bruschetta, which is one of this tomato-lovers favorites. I think she had fun getting dressed up and having everything brought to her. And the guys serving our table were very nice and talked to all the girls. She felt very grown up. She also asked me "Mom, which fork do I use? There are 3 of them" :).

Avery's favorites were the cupcakes and the yummy punch. During all the speeches and toasts, she kept asking me "Mom, when are people going to be done talking so we can have a cupcake and go dance?" And the girls got lots of compliments on their dresses and I got lots of "how did you find a skirt that was the exact same as the other dresses?" Thank you Grandma Richards and your alteration skills!

Beautiful bride and groom! If I include my girls and my niece that is due to arrive in April, the estrogen finally outnumbers the testosterone.
Into December.......

We had the flu bug come through our house in early December. Avery was the first to get it, and luckily on a day that Mayson didn't have school - I'm not a fan of puke in the van. Thankfully, she was only throwing up for a short amount of time (about 8 hours start to finish) but she still felt yucky for the next day and a half. While Avery was sleeping the first afternoon, Mayson packed her a snack, wrote her a little note and left the bag sitting by Avery as she slept. Mayson said "I'll lust leave it here by her so when she wakes up she'll see it and can either eat it or save it til later". The note said "sorry youre sick. I got you some food to make you feel better". And she drew a picture of an orange and some crackers, because that's what the snack was. She is a sweet kid.
Mayson's school had a mass-gingerbread house making activity. In shifts of course. I thought their system was quite clever - volunteers glued old milk cartons onto pieces of cardboard and the kids just assembled their creations around that. Which I think resulted in faster construction and less frustration if the structures collapsed as they more often than not DO. So we packed some bags of candy and they all had lots of fun! Avery loves it when Mayson's class has activites that she can go participate in - she is VERY much looking forward to September 2011!

Mayson's house - she had a mint in her mouth at the time, not mumps.

Roewyn's house had a total of 5 candies on it. She was much more interested in just eating the candy - she even went around to other tables and found abandoned candy to eat :) She was funny to watch.
All dressed up and no place to go! Roewyn put on her dress from the Sunday before, some socks (that kids does love her some socks), her coat and Avery's shoes. She then sat to watch Diego and I found her like this. And notice the panties? YES, SHE IS POTTY TRAINED!! Minus pull-ups for bedtime, she is a full fledged panty-wearer and is very proud of herself, and so are mom and dad. I won't be buying diapers til early April! (due date is really March 27th, but given my history, I am just going with a later arrival)

Mayson's school concert.....
Having so many kids in her school = not having to sit through ALL the other grades performances. We just got to enjoy all the Kindergarten classes sing 5 songs, then we had some cookies and juice then we were done and got to go out for dinner. Much more enjoyable that way I think.
After dinner the girls got a prize from the treasure box. Mayson picked these little pretties....

And they all had fun trying them on....

It was a good 10 minutes of funny-face-making and laughter as they took turns.....

Roewyn didn't last very long with them on her face but she thought her sisters were pretty funny.

Mayson said this was her favorite song that they sang. She had lots of fun and she loved having her family and Gma Richards, Gma DJ and Gpa Kevin come watch.
October, September and Summer to follow......
